Americas Bicultural Students Stand In Washington

The Americas Bicultural School students were invited to represent the country at the Washington Model United Nations Conference held in early April, where once again they managed to successfully triumph giving our school and country deserved acclaim.

Their presence in the Washington Model United Nations Conference (WAMUNC) undoubtedly shows the level of academic preparation of the ABC students.

In a framework of 1,500 students from around the world, and being the only school invited to participate from the Dominican Republic, the Americas Bicultural School students demonstrated their intellectual abilities, their development in public speaking and knowledge of global problems.

In this mock UN, students represent delegates from different countries with the purpose of achieving proposed solutions to problems affecting communities in an international platform.

Among the awards received were:

  • Chantal Mateo, Honorable Mention, Best Exponent, and Most Enthusiastic Delegate.
  • José Carlos Cabrera and Luis Orlando Haza, Best Latin Delegation, Best Country and Best Dressed.
  • Cesar Fernandez and Daniel Vieira, Best Speech.
  • Belmarie Morel and Gabriela Valdez, Best Dressed Delegation of the Conference.

As an institution, international recognition of our students is something that we are proud of.
